Inspired by a quantum explanation of the universe known as string theory, Scripts XII invites the viewer to enter a meditative state and reflect upon the question “What is the universe, including us, made up of?” It is an experimentation that employs dyed cloth stretched over a wooden frame. The cloth, in turn, has been painted using brush strokes that are reminiscent of one-dimensional ’strings’ that constitute the universe.
